Perioral Aesthetics
The question I ask myself is: why do some people want to change the appearance of their skin, their face? Is it a search for fleeting details or a desire for attention and well-being?
It’s been ten years since I began to be interested in complementary therapies in dentistry, driven by a love for aesthetics and everything related to wellness and slowing down aging.
I attended courses where dermatologists, aesthetic and plastic surgeons, nutritionists, experts in anti-aging medicine, and of course, dentists participated.
The question I was asking myself was: why did some people want to change the appearance of their skin, their face?
Was it a search for fleeting details or a desire for attention and well-being?
And further, where did facial prevention and beauty treatments stand in relation to other medical disciplines?
Master in Perioral Aesthetics
What followed took me a long way, to the discovery of a new approach to the person. And finally, the achievement of a University Master’s in Perioral Aesthetics, the only one in Europe for dental physicians.
To know, understand, study materials, tools, and techniques focusing on facial aesthetics and the prevention of its aging. Not only intraoral dentistry, but also attention to the face in which the mouth covers an extensive area, the perioral tissues, the needs and expectations of the patient to give and create well-being.
The First Visit
My first visit has changed, it has become an important and strategic opportunity to listen and learn about the patient, the beginning of an exclusive relationship and a broader therapeutic proposal.
Working with experts in anti-aging medicine, nutritionists, and aesthetic surgeons, I know that today modern dentistry has taken on a much higher value.
Safety lies in the knowledge of techniques, the use of high-quality materials, accreditation by professional associations, and above all in manual sensitivity and the knowledge of natural forms that, as a dentist, I have strongly learned in twenty years of clinical practice.
Now I also teach this discipline through courses specifically targeted at dentists.
